Household Waste Collection - Monday

Yard Waste Collection - Monday

Please refer to the Yard Waste Collection portion of the Polk County Residential Waste website.

All household waste and routine yard waste should be placed curbside either the night before or by 6 a.m. on your collection day.

Additional Guidelines:

• Bins: Use the trash bin for household waste and the recycle bin for yard waste. If you have no yard debris, the recycle bin can be used for trash.
• Lid Requirement: Make sure both bin lids are fully closed. If not, your bins won’t be serviced.
• Excess Yard Waste:
  • Yard waste that doesn’t fit in the bin must be bagged (up to 4 bags). Branches and palm fronds must be tied.
  • Excessive yard debris needs a special hurricane debris pickup. Call Polk County at 863-284-4319 for requests.

Bulk Waste - Collected on the 4th Monday of each month.

Only TWO items at a time. To ensure your items are picked up, please leave them by the curb a few days before the scheduled pickup day. Items left out too early or too late may result in violation fees.

Does not require scheduling for collection however, you can call (863) 284-4319 to schedule a pick-up or you can submit a request on the Polk Waste Wise app, available thru the Play Store on your mobile device.

Recycling Material - As of Oct. 1, 2024, curbside recycling collection has been discontinued. After Oct. 1, you may use your cart for household or yard waste, until your cart is no longer serviceable, or you may call the Solid Waste Division at (863) 284-4319 to request it be removed.
